The Porterhouse in Temple Bar opened in 1996 as Dublin's first pub brewery. Ireland then (and now, arguably) was a beer desert and being the cheeky chappies that we are, we managed to gain maximum publicity by naming a beer Weiserbuddy (you'd be a wiser buddy to drink this beer) and probably the best lager in the world.
